Ubiquiti
Ubiquiti UniFi wireless engineering
UniFi Network makes access points straightforward to adopt and manage, but coverage, capacity, and roaming still come down to RF design and configuration. NetRobin works with UniFi environments where users experience slow performance, drop-offs, or dead zones, and with organizations planning new UniFi sites that want the design measured and validated rather than guessed.
What the architecture looks like
- UniFi Network application, hosted on a UniFi console or self-hosted, managing UniFi access points
- Wireless networks (SSIDs), radio channel and transmit power settings, and minimum data rate controls
- Automatic channel optimization and its limits in dense or multi-floor spaces
- Fast roaming and band steering options, and how the client fleet responds to them
- Multi-site management across locations from a single UniFi interface
- Wi-Fi 6, 6E, and Wi-Fi 7 capability that depends on the specific access point model
Where NetRobin typically helps
- Wireless site surveys and predictive design for new or expanding UniFi sites
- AP placement, channel, power, and channel-width tuning based on measurement
- Coverage and capacity assessments for dense, high-ceiling, or warehouse spaces
- Roaming and connectivity troubleshooting across mixed client devices
- Deployment, migration, and post-install validation surveys
- Standardizing RF settings and validating performance across multi-site UniFi environments
What we review and measure
- Wireless network and radio settings in the UniFi Network application
- Per-AP channel, transmit power, utilization, and client statistics
- Independent passive and active survey data: RSSI, SNR, co-channel overlap, and noise floor
- Client-side captures and roaming timelines
- Spectrum analysis where unexplained interference is reported
Common questions
Is UniFi suitable for business wireless?
Many organizations run UniFi successfully. Results depend on correct AP selection, placement, and RF settings for the environment — the same engineering any platform needs. We assess against your requirements rather than recommending a vendor change by default.
Why is our UniFi Wi-Fi slow even though every AP shows connected?
An AP being online does not mean clients get good airtime. Too many APs on overlapping channels, wide channels in dense spaces, low minimum data rates, or interference can all reduce performance. Measurement at the client location identifies which applies.
Do you support multi-site UniFi environments?
Yes. We review settings and measured performance per site and help standardize RF settings where sites are similar, while accounting for buildings that need their own design.
When to Engage NetRobin
Engage NetRobin when a UniFi deployment has outgrown its original coverage plan or clients encounter persistent roaming and airtime problems. We review controller settings and site measurements to determine what can be optimized and where redesign is needed.
